Float trips, drop camps, or drop camps on lakes with sport boat and motor.
Bear hunts targeting a salmon food source.
You can consult state or federal biologist for information on run strength and spawning areas.
Moose hunt cost is based on a charter price of $2,200 per hour. The payload (clients + gear) for the Beaver is 1200 pounds. Hunt costs are dependent on many factors; aerial survey time, distance flown to hunting site, hunting group’s total weight & number of trips it takes, as well as the number of animals harvested. Hunters should expect to pay from $2,200 to $4,400 per person.
The majority of moose hunters are placed on small lakes where moose have been spotted and the terrain is adequate for walking and hunting and we have some spectacular lakes in the Wood-Tikchik Park for moose hunts.
One option is to go to one of the many big lakes with an inflatable boat and outboard motor, which provides access to a greater hunting area.
You can also float a river and hunt for moose but this is now quite limited for non-resident hunters due to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game(ADF&G) regulation changes. Please see the ADF&G web site for current regulations. We will be happy to give you a price for the float trips.
Call for a quote for the King Salmon, Nushagak, Nuyakuk, and Tikchik Rivers if you are a non-resident. The Tikchik River requires a permit from the Wood-Tikchik State Park, 907-842-2375.
A registration permit for the Nushagak and Mulchatna drainage is required for all non-residents. This permit must be picked up in person by August 31st from the ADF&G in Dillingham, 907-842-2334. We rent inflatable rafts with a rowing frame for $120/day for your float trip.
Call us for a quote for the Kokwok River in addition to the previously named rivers if you are a resident. Also, for residents wishing to hunt in GMU 17A please see the ADF&G web page for specific regulations.
Any information regarding your expectations will help us to put you in a hunting area where you can get what you are looking for.
